Wi-Fi and Network Requirments
A NOON Room Director is compatible with most residential Wi-Fi networks. If you are experiencing connectivity issues make sure that your Wi-Fi network meets these requirements.
Wireless Frequencies
- Requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Note: You may have a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network. To enable a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, refer to your router manual or contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Range
- Be sure to install a Room Director within range of your wireless router.
Security
- Must use WPA or WPA2 security with a password.
- To locate your security settings refer to your router manual or contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
IPv4 network
- Must have an IPv4 address assignment on your local area network.
- To locate the IP address type being used by your network, refer to your router manual or contact your Internet Service Provider.
Firewall Settings
- Your firewall settings may prevent NOON switches from connecting to the NOON service. You may need to adjust your firewall settings.
- Adjusting your router’s firewall settings can affect your router's security. To locate your firewall settings refer to your router manual or contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Ports
- NOON switches use TCP port 443 to communicate with the NOON service.
- For help with adjusting your Wi-Fi router settings, refer to your router manual or contact your Internet Service Provider.
Unsupported Networks
- Captive portal
- Enterprise 802.1x/RADIUS
- Wi-Fi networks that are not password protected
- WEP protocol
Note: The NOON Extension Switch connects to the Room Director via Bluetooth LE. If you are experiencing connectivity issues with your Extension Switch, contact Savant Support.
