Savant Power & Light App - Adding and Configuring a GE Smart Water Heater

GE Smart Water Heater


Overview

 

The Following guide assumes the GE Smart Water Heater is already physically installed and connected to Wi-Fi using the GE SmartHQ app before any Savant setup is started.

This guide is one of several that describe the functions within the SP&L app. For links to all available articles, refer to the Savant Power & Light App (SP&L) – Initial Smart Panel Configuration.

 

1. Savant Power and Light App Setup

  1. Connect to a Home > Add/ Remove Devices, check off GE Smart Hot Water Heater, then Save.
  2. Tap the Hot Water tile, then tap + to add a Water Heater to the configuration.
  3. Sync the Config to the Host and continue setup in the Savant App.

 

2. Savant App Setup

The following steps should be performed from the Savant app to link the GE Smart Water Heater.

  1. Connect to the same Home where the GE Smart Water Heater was added from the SP&L app.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Devices > Water Heater.
  3. Tap + in the top right to add the GE SmartHQ account to Savant and link the Water Heater.

 

3. Using the Hot Water Service

From the Savant app Service Dock tap the Hot Water service.

  • The status for Temperature Set Point, Time to Temp, and Hot Water Remaining can be viewed.
  • The Mode of the Water Heater can be changed between Normal and Vacation.
  • The Capacity of the Water Heater can be set to Normal, High, or Extra High to provide more or less available hot water.
